Welcome
Welcome to kevinski.com! Feel free to join the forums and discuss anything and everything in the world of gaming. I'm particularly fond of Castlevania, Illbleed and Valis, but feel free to share your own interests with myself and the rest of the community. And be sure to invite your friends, unless they're hackers from Ukraine, of course!

Dracula X Playthrough - Posted by kevinski at 04:23 PM
In case anyone's interested, I'll be posting a full playthrough of the Saturn version of Dracula X: Nocturne in the Moonlight on YouTube soon. Here's a preview of the fun to come...
Thankfully, such mistakes are generally kept to a minimum. I'm not 100% sure just yet, but I might be starting again from scratch, because I was interrupted at some point by someone knocking on my door. I'm trying to complete this with as few breaks as possible (as far as interruptions are concerned, anyway).

Hasslevania 2 Home Page - Posted by kevinski at 12:34 PM
Some of you may be interested to know that the Hasslevania 2 home page is now live, unlike the enemies from the first game. Oh, I slay me! Anyway, feel free to check it out! There'll be more surprises to come, so be sure to check back often! Of course, it'd also be nice if you registered and joined in on discussing the game.

Extracted Illbleed Graphics - Posted by kevinski at 09:36 PM
I've been using various utilities (which are referenced on the Links page, in case you're interested) to extract graphics and sounds from Illbleed, as I'd been doing quite a while ago. Thanks to Jaeder Naub (one of the utilities), my life has been much, much easier in this regard. I'll eventually be categorizing and uploading all of the various graphics and sounds in some form. For now, here's a preview...

There's so much stuff to sort through, and much of it is stuff that I've never even seen before in the game. Some of the graphics appear to be placeholders or otherwise irrelevant, but I'll post them at some point, anyway. Please be very, very patient while I do this, as there are thousands of files for me to sort through.

Coming Soon: Video Reviews - Posted by kevinski at 06:05 PM
I'll be posting some video reviews on YouTube soon, but only once I'm completely over this damn cold that I've had for the past week or so (as I still sound horrible). So, what would you guys like to see reviewed first? You can choose between various consoles and games, as well as accessories. I'll also accept requests for other types of videos with commentaries, such as questions for me (Try to make them really open-ended ones.) or general rants, so feel free to give your input.

Review Format for Controllers - Posted by kevinski at 12:17 AM
Some of you may remember the controller reviews that I had on the old site. I'll be redoing those, of course, but I'm trying to come up with a new format for my reviews. These might end up being posted on segazene.com, rather than on kevinski.com, but that remains to be seen. In either case, feel free to discuss what's important to you in a controller, and I'll attempt to work it into the review format. I'll update this post as the structure changes, of course.
Here's what I have so far:
Analog Stick // 15%
Appearance // 05%
Button Layout // 10%
Cord // 10%
Durability // 10%
D-Pad // 15%
Extras // 05%
Face Buttons // 15%
Shape/Size // 05%
Triggers // 10%
The weighting will probably need to be tweaked. I'm considering how vital each particular element is to the experience of using a controller. Obviously, the appearance and extras aren't terribly important, but seemingly unimportant things (such as the cord) can have a decent impact on the overall experience.
