Valis Voice Acting

For anyone who's ever played a U.S.-released Valis game with voice acting, it's obvious that the series had some of the most God-awful voice acting in history. (The Japanese versions, of course, were quite solid.) As such, I always find it to be interesting to discuss it. It can't be categorized as so-bad-it's-good like in games such as SotN (although Alucard and Death had excellent voice actors), but it's definitely memorable.

In case you haven't heard American Valis voice acting in action, check out the following Web page:

Now that you're scarred for life, how about discussing it?

Re: Valis Voice Acting

I can't hear those now, but I do remember the cutscenes being really drawn out and very slow.

Hahahaha...that's one of my faves, actually. He sounds like he's learning to read. By the way, did you ever finish anymore of those Valis games?

Re: Valis Voice Acting

Poor voice acting FTW. Honestly I dont really expect old games to have voice acting right. Though they could have deffinantly done better then that but its not the worst voice acting I've heard. Its high on the list but doesnt quite take the cake.

Re: Valis Voice Acting

Gamecube's Tales of Symphonia has some really doozies in there too. Collette's is TERRIBLE, and not in the good way.

Nope, I´m yet to beat 3 and 4, I guess I´ll do it once I´m done with PoR.

Re: Valis Voice Acting

The Japanese voice acting for Valis games is actually quite good. It's actually just the English voice actors that're lazy. Or just not voice actors.
