Login issues

Not quite sure if this should go here or in the updates board...... eh, if it does the feel free to move it.  Anyways, over the last couple days I have had trouble logging in.  I have my color scheme changed to that lovely orange and baked brick with a little smear of avocado rind, so it is pretty obvious when I am and am not logged in.  When I input my user name and password it gives the little message about being redirected and then shunts me back to the front index like it normally would.  Except I'm not really logged in.  I get this at a wide variety of hours throughout the day.  I don't know whose end it's on, and I know very little about the maintinence of these things, but it seems to me to be on serverside.  Just a heads up, or keeping you on your toes, or whatever it ends up being.

At least if it ends up being my machine it won't seem so bad.  Just another entry on a list of issues about as long as my bed.

EDIT:  Oh, and it appears to not want to let me log out either.

Re: Login issues

I've never had this issue, nor has anyone else ever mentioned it. I recommend either clearing your cookies or at least clearing the cookies for my site, then seeing if you have the issue anymore. Let me know if it keeps on happening, though.

Re: Login issues

Dude, this is the INTERWEBZ we are talking about.  Who the fuck actually PAYS for digital media these days?  And for the record, I do not have a single pixel of porn on my hard drive.

Eh, if nobody else has said anything about it (but really, who else comes here?) then it must be my crappy computer.I would not have paid for this machine, mind you, it was a gift because I needed a way to take college courses with no transportation.  It's a prefab dell inspiron 531s.  It runs Vista.  It has only 1GB RAM.  Is there anything else you need to hear in order to be convinced?

Oh, I partially take back part of what I said earlier about porn.  I'm a nerd.  I play D&D 3/3.5 E.  I have 7.5 GB worth of D&D materials that took almost 30 hours to DL.  You know how there are many many extra content books out there?  Well, one of them happens to be on how to role-play sex in your game.  Sounds a little backwards, I know, but how else is a nerd going to learn about these things?  To answer the question you have prolly had in your mind for about 6 seconds: yes, it has illustrations both male and femal.

Re: Login issues

His computer's better than both of mine put together haha.

I think my main game making computer has 512 RAM tops and no nifty graphics card doo-dad. It can run Morrowind, which was all I really needed it to do when I got it. big_smile

No way dude, every time I even look at the damn thing with it turned off I am reminded of the fact that it's a mechanical piece of shit because it has this giant DELL logo on the front just above the power button.  Sometimes It will randomly BSOD, sometimes it will randomly scramble the graphics like an old front-loader NES, sometimes the graphics just completely disappear like the comp is turned off.  S?ometimes it's a combination of the above.  The worst I have seen so far was one time it went BSOD on me and I had to pull the plug, then after I restarted it the thing went BSOD while in the process of starting safe mode, and in the process of going BSOD a second time it completely froze up.  You might be barely able to run Morrowind, but at least it does so reliably.

Re: Login issues

Wow what's wrong with the thing? Do you need to reformat it or something?

Re: Login issues

Lol, I already told you what's wrong.  It's a prefab DELL running Vista.  If I were some technical guru I bet I could make a shorter list of things it does properly and effeiciently.
